There are also various videos, workbooks, and tips on the site which may be helpful, including a festive tips sheet and winter wellness information booklet which shall be on the site soon
Arrange an appointment for the new year
The phone service over the festive period can only offer appointments, not interventions. We are sorry we don't have the capacity to be a crisis service and that over the festive period the service is limited as there is only one person on most days. If you need to speak to someone now, remember the Samaritans freephone116 123 are there 24/7 365.
To speak to one of the wellness advisors at COPE the project phone 0141 944 5490 and you will be offered an appointment to speak to someone the week beginning 4th of January or 11th January depending on demand. Our remote phone answering service is available 9 am-5 pm except for public holidays and weekends.
Web enquiries
We shall respond to enquiries via the website within 24 hours except for Christmas and New Year's Day again however, we regret we cannot offer a crisis service. Hilda will be covering the website over the festive period
People currently being supported by COPE the project
Prior to stopping for the festive break, the one to one wellness advisors will seek to connect with the people they are supporting and check-in before they go on leave.
Rather than arrange specific times for appointments the week beginning 4th January, the team will phone round everyone they are each supporting during that week, to touch base and see how everyone is and then to schedule appointments going forwards.
Touching base call
Kathleen will be working until 4 pm on 22nd and 29th of December and will be phoning around those people we are currently supporting who may value a wee hello call. Kathleen is also doing a chatty café those days starting at noon
Relaxation with Sheila
The relaxation sessions being run by Sheila will start back on Monday the 11th of January, the last session for this year is Monday 14th December, for login details email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or phone 0141 944 5490
We are aware this will be a challenging time for many this festive period, and that most of us one way or another has been affected by COVID19. We are sorry if anyone feels we should be doing more, however, we are a small team and experience has shown the festive period can be quiet, however, January and February can be very busy, so it's better the one to one team are rested and have time with their family over the festive period so they can come back refreshed in the new year to be there when demand is higher.
