Jigsaw more than a project a concept

It was great to see so many groups and agencies attend the launch of the 'What's in Drumchapel for you and yours' information booklet launch.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the booklet possible including James Larmour & Paul Fulton, who walked the West Highland Way and kindly donated funds raised to COPEScotland which helped with the printing costs of the booklet copies of which are being shared for FREE.

We are in the process of also making one for Yoker and the Dumbarton Road Corridor.

People with experience of lived experience of mental distress and ill health asked could services not find ways to connect better to each other and the community.

COPE Scotland approached a local GP practice and asked one of the GP's if they perhaps also felt there could be better connections. This led to an application for funding to the Primary Care Transformation Fund and supported by Glasgow City HSCP.

The project needed a name and with the community, COPEScotland suggested Jigsaw because it was more than just a project but the beginning maybe of seeing the world through each other's eyes so better connections could be built.

We were fortunate to have Tammy who is on secondment from Glasgow City Council to help begin to see where connections could be built in her role as Jigsaw coordinator, including helping link-local groups and agencies to seed funds to try out new ideas which support better mental health and wellbeing for people in Drumchapel, Yoker and the Dumbarton Road Corridor.

Attached is a presentation on Jigsaw which you may find interesting also links to the Lids and resource booklets we mention in the presentation

Jigsaw is a concept, we all hold precious pieces, taking the time to understand each other and how we connect is an ongoing process and we look forward to learning, sharing and hearing from others as we find new ways to build connections together.
