Safe Space Workshop Session Two UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who has accessed session ONE of the training. It's great to know so many people are interested in helping create psychologically safer places in informal and peer-led groups

Session TWO and all the sessions can be used in many ways, as a learning aid for someone facilitating a group, an established group seeking to see if there is anything helpful for them.

A group setting up and looking for ideas to help it achieve its goals.

In the notes to accompany the slides we suggest times, these are only suggestions, the good thing with online materials is that you can go at a pace suits the group, spending more or less time as needed in different areas, even repeating a bit.

Session ONE began to explore, why people may like to be with others. It also began to look at the different needs people may have depending on whether they were introvert or extrovert, it also touched on the challenges of loneliness and isolation.

Session ONE began to invite people to think more about why they were starting, or further developing their group.

Session TWO picks up from some of the points in session ONE and begins to explore the value of peer-led and Informal groups, the idea of the AIM and Purpose of the group, participants are thinking about, and using a Vision Board beginning to focus on what it is the group want to move towards for their group.

Knowing what the peer-led or Informal group is seeking to achieve, helps with future planning so it's worth spending as much time here as needed, it may be there is more than one Vision Board. For anyone unfamiliar with facilitating Vision Boards, details are in the materials which accompany Session Two.

We hope you find the materials useful, and please feel free to send us any comments

Special thanks to 'Time Out For Men' Bristol for posting their video on YouTube, really inspiring as an example of a peer-led group.
