Things we can do to help build a kinder world?

Sometimes it can be very overwhelming all the problems we can have as individuals and the pain and suffering we see on the news others are struggling with. Then the additional worry of what is happening to the environment, seeing parents are in tears over the fears they have for the quality of air their children breath.

We sometimes wonder, ''what can we do?'', ''it's all too much!'', ''I don't think anything I or anyone else can do can make a difference!''.

In July 2015 Scotland became one of the first countries in the world to adopt the Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs). The SDGs are a set of 17 goals which all UN member states are using to mobilise efforts to end poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change. There are small changes happening, and when enough small changes happen that's when real transformation can occur. Each and every one of us can be a part of helping bring about the change.

Sharing, having kinder conversations, realising we have a beautiful world, full of amazing people, wildlife, fauna, flowers and yes we know there are rivers of plastic but we helped make these rivers, so we can find ways to reverse this.

Believe in a better tomorrow is the first step, and yes while there are industries who look to what they can do, we too can look to our own actions and behaviours, every day try and find one action which helps take us closer to the 17 sustainable development goals, large or small they all add up and together we can be the solution.
