Tips for looking after you, when sometimes it is all a bit overwhelming

Kind people care about other people. Kind people often put the needs of others before themselves, they can see the pain or unhappiness around them and want to try and do something that makes a difference. They don't do it for the glory, accolades or awards, they just do it because they care. This means often they can be busy…………………..Very, Very, Busy. Does any of this seem familiar to you?

There is always something to be doing, and no matter what that is, means you are not doing something else needs to be doing, and no matter how much you do……… it never seems to all be done, and there is always someone to let you know…………'You missed a bit' 'Not quite good enough' 'I need you to ……….' !

Or, there is the cognitive dissonance of conflicting messages, along the lines of, 'you really should take it easy, make time for you', and at the same time,' oh I need you too…'

On top of caring about everyone else you may have concerns of your own over, money, health, the future, the lack of time you have for your own hobbies, interests, family! The guilt because you know there are other things you should do, but you are just so tired…… The list can go on.

This wee fun video and tips sheets isn't going to get all the doing done or stop all the 'you missed a bit' or the conflicting messages of slow down do more, BUT it may make them a bit more bearable and give you space to begin to work out what is important to you.

Sometimes we are so busy doing for everyone else, we forget to also do something for us, so if all you do today FOR YOU is watch this wee video, then that's a step in the right direction.

You matter, your wellbeing matters, and you have a right to look after and be kind to you too. Being kind and compassionate to others are noble virtues which help build a kinder world. Just please remember, you aren't being selfish looking after you.
