COPEScotland started this wee magazine as a way of sharing information and it's kind of grown and grown and grown! We are going to spend some time reflecting on how this magazine has been received and how it can evolve further in future e.g. we may move it to be every 6 weeks instead of monthly or change the format slightly.
We are led by what people think, so please share your ideas and we will do what we can to reflect them as we move forwards, email any comments to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. E.g. every month we list all the helplines and support services we know of, do we change that and make that a separate publication which is updated every 6 months and the magazine evolves more into specific features and themes around wellbeing?
Info magazines like this are simple tools to help people find out a wee bit more about what is happening, become aware of things perhaps they didn't know about already, and as a wee directory of support services and helplines as well as sharing learning opportunities and more. They also can offer a space to feature specific groups and activities. This month our features include:
We remain in strange times, but even if it feels like it, we are not alone. The sheer volume of services and resources in the magazine show that we are trying to find ways to work together to help and this is only a wee bit about what is out there, there are even more groups, services and supports sometimes on our doorstep. There are many other places to find out more about whit's happening, here are two as examples you may want to check out
ALISS (a local information system for Scotland) which helps you find help and support in your postcode, in these times services can change so maybe give them a call for the latest on whit's happening for them. This is the link for the ALISS search engine https://www.aliss.org/
Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS) have brought together this directory of support organisations for more information visit https://www.glasgowhelps.org/ again once you find services maybe worth given them a call for the latest on whit's happening for them
Knowing even a wee bit about whit is happening, is a start!
