Ever wondered about taking up Yoga? Or Laughter Yoga?

We can all at times think about how active we are, the hobbies we have, whether we want to try something new, New year can be a time when we think about that more than usual; as we plan to get fitter, if this is something which matters to us, or, learn to relax more, or join a class and meet new people.

With local yoga teacher Anne, we co-produced a wee information sheet on Yoga, answering the questions people wanted to know about Yoga. As with anything, if you have concerns about your health, speak to your GP or other health professionals to see if this is for you, and make sure any class you join you share any health concerns you may have with the teacher where appropriate.

Yoga can take many forms, chair yoga, laughter yoga (follow this wee link to read a piece on this and watch a video tells you more) Hatha Yoga and More.

There are often local classes free or for a donation, so it needn't cost a lot of money. You may find local healthy living centres or other community groups are running classes. COPE Scotland have Free classes in partnership with Anne's Yoga Heart and feedback from participants has been really positive:

''It was very peaceful, loved learning about the breathing''

''Brilliant, very helpful, more relaxed''

''Very good explanation, Relaxing''

''Very good balance of exercise and mindfulness''

''Yoga class is excellent, and Anne is too''

''Perfect for me''
